cosplayresources:

Here is another great one by Taeliac. I love her tutorials, they are always perfect!
For those with long hair, pincurls under a wig don’t leave you with a lopsided or lumpy head. They take forever to do but they really make the wig look as natural as it can. Please +fav the original!

this is very helpful especially if you have longer hair! for the ladies of our group I especially recommend this seeing as your wigs are longer and more weighty. When my hair was just a little longer I pin curled it for a cosplay and wow gosh that wig never moved an inch it was easier to get bobby pins to ‘grab’ onto something with the pin curls.

cosplayresources:

Today’s posts are going to be kind of girly, but in my opinion, makeup is extremely important in the art of cosplay. For all day convention wear, you need a long lasting makeup and a dramatic look. Contouring is basically “painting” shadows on your face to make it appear a certain way. It can make your nose look thinner, your eyes brighter… Anything really. Like all things it takes time to master, but it is a skill well worth learning.
This is a good written guide, for those that prefer to read, and this is an awesome YouTube video on makeup contouring.
Check out my makeup brand recommendations here!

haha Hi guys!

dappertime:

Big note! Seeing as school time is starting real soon for all of us and we’re going to be
*drumroll please*
STUDENTS AGAIN
We all may be very busy but don’t fret!
those cosplays can get done with quality and low cost
just be sure to keep sharing links making posts here guys.
Check frequently too.

BIGGEST NOTE: please start saving now! Even just, a small amount every month can pile up fast and be used for your SDCC ticket or AX. or go towards cosplay

We still have yet to see how exactly SDCC will be doing ticket sales this year but Kristi has informed me that they WILL be doing early sales again, but in limited amounts to those that did not attend last year until the later sales are open.
FINGERS CROSSED EVERYONE

also would anyone be interested in a skype room group made special for us to look at frequently for short stuff like HEY MAN I WANT TO VOLUNTEER TO DO SO AND SO FOR EVERYONE

Bald Cap help/Mohawks in cosplay

Since our Flame Prince has a mohawk obviously I’m putting this post together for him!

Many places suggest cutting wig down to as thick as you want the mohawk and spirit gumming/sewing it onto the bald cap for the mohawk
from there it is makeup work and where styling the mohawk as desired comes in handy.
Bald Caps take Ben Nye pretty well apparently so we personally will probably blend and set it that way for our own purposes. seeing as we require a warmer yellow as opposed to a skin tone.

No matter what though the back of the wig cap can get wrinkly, luckily our Flame Prince will have a cape and the back of it will cover any wrinklage.

How to fit/apply the wig cap/blending it with skin-

Graftobian is a high-end type of bald cap, but any should do!

How to make your own custom shoe covers

Since I can’t find the right shoes for my Marshall cosplay (well, I DID, but I couldn’t figure out where I could buy them at), I have to make my own boots. And since I know a lot of characters have shoes that are hard to match or whatever, here are some tutorials on how to make them.

because glitter

After doing any of these be sure to hairspray (maximum hold) the glitter! This locks it on and prevents flecks of it spreading everywhere like the herpes craft it is!

on shoes-
